Agradecimientos:

Thank you to Erika, Lucca’s mom and Tony’ Leo’s dad for giving a special time to our students.

Thank you to Erika for baking and sharing the delicious pumpking bread with our class.

Kindness festival

Our fairy teacher, Emily Butterfly, did a wonderful puppet show for the whole school. The children loved it and were entranced by the story and characters. During play time there were many kindness-focused activities; reading books, making cards and flags with kind messages, and washing the bikes. Everyone enjoyed practicing different ways to be kind!

Beautiful brown

We started looking at different shades and hues of brown, and looked at the different colors of our skin. We encouraged the children to mix the primary colors to make different browns, and we tried to see if we could match the colors with our skin. The children were fascinated with the results of their mixing.

Parent visitors

Like every year, we started inviting parents to visit and share their talents or hobbies. Erika, Lucca’s mom and Tony , Leo’s dad were the first two guests. Erika brought and introduced some musical instruments, and did a music circle. She shared her instruments, and everybody got a turn to play one. We played music and danced together! Tony shared his drawing skills. Each child did their own scribble, and Tony incorporated it into a drawing. Everybody got to take one home!

Art

We did art projects related to the sounds of the week, “l” and “f “. We made some ladybugs, and a fish. Julianne brought some quills and liquid water colors. The children experienced dipping the quill in the liquid water colors and drawing with it on paper. The results were unique and colorful.

Movement class on Fridays

The children keep looking forward to and enjoying movement. It’s a chance for them to practice and refine gross motor skills. As a friendly reminder, to join movement class, the children must wear T-shirt, and pants or shorts. No dresses, tunics or skirts, as they impede the ability to move freely. As always, movement class is optional.

Grandpa Clyde

We are very lucky to continue to have Grandpa Clyde once a month. He very generously volunteers his time to play music and sing for the children. He is an amazing performer and the children love to listen and dance to his songs.

Traveling scholars

These two weeks, our traveling scholars were Ruby and Jojo, and Eleanor and Marshall. Our visitors were Kian and Fiona, and Adeline and Eden. It has been great continuing this tradition. The children enjoy visiting a different classroom, exploring different activities, and making new connections.
