Lunar New Year Part II πŸ§§πŸ‰πŸ

We continued our foray into Lunar New Year with decorating apricot trees with yellow blossoms for Tet and preparing “dragon noodles” inspired by the book of the same name. We talked about the Chinese and Vietnamese Zodiac animals and figured out that we are a class of mostly Tigers, an Ox, a Dragon, and a Pig! We finished off celebrations with an ECC-wide outdoor one where we got to parade around the berm with lion heads.

Art with Julianne

Julianne came in and helped us make twirly snakes because it is now the year of the snake. We took them for a parade around the berm during outside time.

Friendship Day

In honor of Friendship Day on 2/14, made sign language “I love you” necklaces, transformed our white play dough into lavender play dough, used heart stickers and stickers of our friends to decorate envelops and keepsakes, used our heart key to find our friends, and played together <3

Remy’s Birthday

Remy turned 3! His mom, Vasa came in and told us stories about each year of Remy’s life. We danced to his favorite song, “A Sky Full of Stars” after having a strawberry moon pop treat.
