Hello Cedar families,
It’s so great to be back!! Breaking our consistent routine and resuming back what we are familiar with feels so fresh, motivating, and insightful🙂. We are ready and enjoying to continue working with your child to learn and grow together. The following were the themes we explored over the past two weeks.
Winter
It’s winter! We prepared many winter-related activities in the Practical Life area, transferring water or dry materials with different tools. On the art shelf, we also had coloring activities with different kinds of coloring utensils to explore their textures. Everyone painted their own snowman with unique expressions and personalities. Finally, we did an ice experiment. We talked about the 3 states of water and how the solid and liquid states can vary their shapes depending on the containers. We had been patient to wait until the melting water evaporated! It took a long time!
Tree
A big tree puzzle and a plant in the classroom helped us study the parts of a tree especially when it was raining outside. We learned the difference between “deciduous” and “evergreen” trees. We talked about the needs for trees to live/grow, like sun, water, soil, and space, and how important is to plant and cherish trees. Trees provide so much to our lives, such as food, medicine, materials (paper, including toilet paper 🙂, tires, toothpaste), oxygen, preserving soils and water, and so on. Therefore, we have to be mindful and not waste resources. We made a tree craft with wallpaper on our art day with Julianne.
Birthday Celebration
Happy birthday to Westley and Luca. They both turned four in the early month.
