Students have begun loading their prairie schooners for the Oregon Trail. Each child has created a diary, taken on a pseudonym, and today collaborated with “family” members to purchase supplies for the trail. I will send out a sign-up later this week to ask your help building miniature schooners, sewing bonnets, and much more. Some photos of the action:

Homework:

No math.

Write about the process of packing the wagons in your Oregon Trail diary. Imagine your family selling most of your belongings to afford the items you purchased at the country store. This should be a page or two in your diary.

Read! 20+ minutes and do a summary or prediction on your planner. Your choice. Next reading group assignment due Friday.
