Welcome back to school after what I hope was a happy President’s Week holiday. Our chemistry unit will get off the ground this week, so look forward to good photographs and exciting conversations around the dinner table about what chromotography is, what happens when you put dial soap in a microwave, and how to tell the difference between chemical and physical changes. We’ll see many of you for Math Night on Thursday.
A note on mindfulness in Cerrito Creek –
We’ve been sitting, standing, or even chewing food for a minute or two a few times a week this year to practice mindfulness. We’ve recently stepped it up to five minutes twice a day, and wow, what a difference it’s made. The students came in this afternoon after math and were riled up. We sat down for five minutes of breathing and relaxation, and then the energy change in the classroom was palpable as we continued our study of atoms. A powerful, powerful tool it is!
