This week is another full one. Students began drafting the piece they will publish in our first issue of the Chanterelle, our classroom literary magazine. They are working on all kinds of important writing skills, from writing good leads to including dialogue and the inner experience of the character, which is for this unit, themselves. They will delve into the science of magnetism this week, exploring the classroom and wider school to find objects with magnetic properties and puzzling then reading about why.
They also take their first round of MAP tests this week on the computers, which will give us valuable data about what individuals need practice on, and what as a class we would all benefit from practicing in reading, writing, and mathematics. There is a second round of testing in the spring for comparative data.
Enjoy some photos below from the end of last week.
