Back to School Night Thursday, from 6 to 8. See you there! We’ll give a Fort Ross preview and other important curriculum and event information.

Also, fourth grade parents–I’m starting to call around to check in with how it’s going so far for your child. Don’t be alarmed if the teacher calls between 7 and 9:30–I’m eager to gather your wisdom and feedback.

Hands-on materials, or manipulatives, continue to be an essential tool for taking the leap from concrete to abstract mathematics.

Homework

Tuesday (same as Monday!)

Read for 20 or so minutes and record the number of pages read in your assignment planner

Write for 15 minutes on another of your writing territories in your writer’s notebook. Should be 1-2 pages of writing. If you don’t have your notebook, remember that you can write on a piece of lined notebook paper.

Math:

• 4th graders have a two-sided worksheet due Wednesday.
• 5th graders have a packet due Friday. 2-3 pages a night will keep you on track to finish.
