Happy Halloween,

Thank you to all of you that came to our Pick-a-party Sunday afternoon for soup, bread, cocktails, and music. It was a blast–I love building community with y’all–and I hope we can do it again. Halloween on Tuesday, so no homework that night, but otherwise business as usual.

A note from Sima Misra, re: MAP testing results:

MAP Test Results Family Ed Event – November 1
Families of 4th graders and 5th-8th graders new to TBS are invited to learn more about the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Growth Assessment (described in this packet), at an event hosted by Director of Teaching & Learning Sima Misra on Wednesday, November 1, 6-7:00p. The MAP Growth assessment is one of many kinds of assessments TBS teachers use to measure student growth and inform instructional practices like differentiation. Since background is necessary to interpret the results, only families who have attended a previous MAP Family Ed Event, or who attend the Wednesday, November 1 event, will be given their student’s MAP results. Click here to RSVP and request childcare.  We ask that you plan to arrive promptly at 6:00p. If you arrive after 6:05p or cannot attend on November 1, you will need to set up another time to receive the training. Please contact Sima to make arrangements to meet on another day or if you have any questions.
