Monday we began a Gold Rush game, a kind of whole-class board game that acts as a role-playing simulation of the California Gold Rush. Ask your child what their team name is, which classmates are on their team, and what they are excited about. They will earn and lose gold nuggets as the game progresses, jump claims, and learn about the ups and downs for the various stakeholders in this guilded chapter of California history.
We finished revising our Fort Ross historical fiction pieces last week, so look forward to the next edition of the Chanterelle coming out later this week. We began writing poetry today and will continue through April.
