Greetings Cerrito Families!
My name is Samantha Snook and it is my pleasure to be the Assistant Teacher in Cerrito Creek this year. I am a second year resident teacher with BATTI (Bay Area Teacher Training Institute) and excited to teach with Mike this year. I earned my BA in Child Development from CSUS and have always known I wanted to be a teacher. Since high school I have had many years’ experience working with kids ranging from infant and toddler care, teaching preschool, after school and summer camp, and group and private tutoring from grades K-12.
Last year I co-taught 1st grade at a public charter school in San Francisco. While there I deepened my passion for Social Emotional Learning and empowering students to be active, engaged, and empathetic members of their community. I am looking forward to bringing these passions to The Berkeley School and to learn from and work alongside such a special group of individuals that share this passion.
Outside of work, you can find me perusing the children’s sections of book stores in San Francisco-my hometown, vacationing in Hawaii with my fiance Spencer, or crafting in the comfort of my home with music on full blast. I can’t wait to get to know everyone this year!
