Upcoming
- Walkathon is this Thursday. Pack a snack, lunch, and water for this healthy day of civic engagement, community building, and celebration. No hot lunch served.
- Next Tuesday, from 6 to 7 in the Depot, is the Cerrito play: Bittersweet Gifts in Oregon. Room coordinators will help us serve pizza to students at 5:15, so they are fed and ready to impress. A short graduation and stepping up ceremony will follow the show.
Costumes, choreography, and so much more
Thank you, Jen and Logan for the materials, energy, and time. We have a lot still to do this week, but parent involvement is one of the many ingredients that makes these shows a success.
Rad American Women Presentations
Great dinner table conversation for tonight: “Honey, I see your presentation is tomorrow. Do you feel ready? Do you want to practice on me? I can help you…” Google Classroom is the place to find their presentations, which should be about 6 slides long, including their timelines and acrostic poems. Student should not read directly from their research papers, and the presentation should be less than five minutes long.
Stock Market Project, final week
It’s been a tough month for the stock market, thanks to someone’s Tweets and unconventional diplomacy. Nevertheless, students are learning all kinds of skills related to data interpretation and representation. Almost no one is making money, unfortunately, especially if they invested in Apple or Tesla
The 8th Grade Fashion Show…
was Tuesday, which students of all ages love to behold. The theme was recycled and repurposed materials, since the textile industry is one of the major contributors to carbon emissions and climate change. Something to look forward to in grade 8!
Homework
Congratulations, sort of. You have reached the end of the homework trail. But that doesn’t mean you have escaped all danger. Homework still lurks around the corner, especially if you have not finished your presentation or paper. Both of these things can be found on Google Classroom. Your presentation will be 3 to 5 minutes long. It should include details about your Rad Woman’s life, images, etc. Include your acrostic, too.
