Hola Live Oak Families!

This is an extra bonus blog before the weeklong President’s Day break.

We started the week celebrating Amara’s birthday. She turned four years old on January 2nd! After the birthday circle Amara’s younger brother, Micah, suggested the “borriquito” dance, and everybody agreed. It was a fun way to close the birthday circle. Amara was our last student with a January birthday. The next birthday students are Marshall and Paige in March.

Valentines Everywhere.

The Live Oak class loves exchanging Valentines every year! Thank you parents for helping and providing Valentines to your children. They were excited about taking their bags home!

During this week we prepared different Valentine projects such as cardboard prints, stamps, heart hole-punching work, symmetry heart activity, Valentine’s treasure work, and forming a heart with gems.

Goodbye to Reptiles

This unit was a great success. The children loved learning about snakes, crocodiles, lizards, chameleons, and turtles. They really enjoyed sharing what they learned, playing in the fantasy corner, and using all the reptile items and materials we provided during this unit. One of the special things during this unit was that they got to see and touch real snakes thanks to Lamar, who also brought the old skin that his hognose snake shed.

Our last four art/craft projects were the watercolor chameleon, the ribbon snake, the horned lizard, and the stained glass. The stained glass was the colorful idea that Whit and his dad, Patrick, shared with our class.

Agradecimientos:

Thank you to Marshall’s family for taking care of the napkins.

Thank you to Micah, Amara’ younger brother, for making our class happy.

Thank you to Patrick and Whit for the stained glass project. The children loved it!

Reminders:

March 9th and 10th : Parent/teachers conferences

March 17th: Half day. No childcare (Staff development day)

Have a great long weekend!
