Geometric shapes
Robots, rocket ships, houses, helicopters, airplanes, trucks, and many more creations were made of different geometric shapes. Besides the basic shapes, the students included new shapes, such as ellipses, rhombus, pentagons, octagons, hexagons, trapezoids, ovals. It was so great to see the children learning about geometry in a fun way. They enjoyed the “What is the missing shape?” game, the geometric group poster, and the hole punching work.
Science projects
Children love observing reactions in science projects, and we finally started our science curriculum. Our first project was density, in which we mixed different liquids with water and food coloring. Then one of their favorites, the volcano eruption with vinegar and baking soda.
Artist visiting
Our class was very lucky to have Juky, Lucas’s grandma visiting from Mexico City. She is an artist, and she shared some of her paintings, and let the children observe and touch the different textures on her art pieces. She also gave a drawing and coloring lesson in which all our students listened with interest and attention. Then, we provided the children with materials to make a replica of one of her paintings. Juky was very impressed with the children’s art, and so were we!
After Juky’s visit, our students were inspired and we created an art project with fresh oranges. They made great drawings, coloring and painting using colored pencils and watercolors.

Kindness chain
We are excited to see some children very aware of the kindness chain and trying their best to be kind with their classmates. Checking on friends if they got hurt, getting an ice pack, helping to clean up, cheering up a sad friend, inviting someone to play with them, etc.
Traveling scholars
This week Lucas and Paige decided to spent a morning in Cedar classroom. Our visitors from Cedar classroom were Zenia and Bryton, and they both tried many works in Live Oak.
Thank you
