Geometry

Our class explored a variety of fun and creative geometric activities! We began by replicating the triangular box from the sensorial shelf and working with the metal inset shapes. Our art teacher, Julianne, introduced a colorful project using an assortment of geometric shapes. Also, using recycled cardboard, the children brought their own ideas to life—building trucks, houses, trains, and rocket ships. They also enjoyed making geometric people and butterflies, which sparked lots of excitement and imagination.

Geography

The older group has been hard at work finishing their continent books and singing the continents song. After learning about gulfs and peninsulas, we introduced two new landforms: archipelagos and chains of lakes. The children had a blast creating their own versions in the sandbox, using their imagination and teamwork. It was a joy to witness their enthusiasm and collaboration during this hands-on geography experience.

Traveling scholars

Our final travelers this year were Thomas, Maren, Esmeralda, and Sasha, who spent a full morning in the Cedar classroom. We welcomed our last visitors—Zinnia, Belle, and Bryton. It was heartwarming to see how much the children enjoyed this special routine of visiting and connecting with friends in other classrooms.
