Welcome Ruby!
Ruby made our class even, now we have 20 students in Live Oak. Ruby is three years old and her family is very familiar with Live Oak. Her big brother Jet spent two years in our classroom and we really miss him, but we are happy to have Ruby!
Birthdays
Ziggy was our last January birthday. He turned four years old!
Happy birthday Ziggy!!!
North America
We continued learning about North America’s countries, languages, and the Montessori matching flags. We also enjoyed other North America projects, such as painting the continent, gluing pictures of the first people living in North America, and a teepee craft. All these activities foster different skills, such as concentration, order, and fine motor skills .
The tribe table is an area where two or three children can play with figures of people, animals, and teepees.
Sensory bin
The sensory bin turned into a sand bin with funnels, shovels, treasures, and other items the children love manipulating. They love feeling, pouring, scooping, and finding treasures as well. They also have the opportunity to share materials and space with two more friends.
Art
We finally finished our Winter art gallery. The students created two kinds of Winter trees and a finger print snowman project. They loved dipping their fingers in the paint!
Also, Julianne brought a project with dusty chalk pastel. It gave the children a sensorial experience, feeling the chalk texture and watching the color mixing. You can click the link below to see more.
