Math
Julia teaches fifth grade math; Sam teaches fourth. Bridges mathematics curriculum is the backbone of math learning in 4th and 5th grade. Teachers will move through the 8 possible units at a pace dictated by the students through pre-assessments and checkpoints throughout the unit. Teachers also integrate other curricula to create a rich and dynamic math class, such as Marcy Cook number problems, Cathy Fosnot units, gflecthy 3-Act problems, and more.

Some tenets we believe are…
- Seize the opportunity to be wrong and learn from it. Wrong answers are often more valuable than correct ones.
- Everyone is a mathematician. Forget about what you thought before.
- Show your work.
- Math is patterns.
- We will develop habits and patterns of thinking this year to help you solve math problems, so every problem doesn’t feel new.
