We started this week continuing our study of quadrilaterals and polygons. Last week, we talked about what makes each quadrilateral unique. This week, we applied our knowledge of these 2D shapes to try and create them using toothpicks and geoboards. We read Grandfather Tang and made our own set of 7 tangrams from a large square. Many found it interesting that so many shapes can make up a larger shape. Temescalians also enjoyed using geoboards to create their own quadrilaterals and polygons that still fit the specifications given to them.

We are in the many stages of editing, typing, and putting together our research writing of local plants and animals. We hope that you can join us on Tuesday, June 4 from 8:45 – 10:30am for a Celebration of Learning and End of the Year potluck. You can sign up for potluck items on the button at the top of the page!

Our 3/4/5th grade houses had our first Muggle Quidditch matches on Friday! We learned the basic rules and the different houses played against each other. Earth House Quakes vs. Fire House Flaming Phoenixes. Water House Ursula vs. Air House Molecules. Finally, the Flaming Phoenixes vs. Ursula. There are some hiccups along the way, but overall, we had a great time in the sun, rooting for people across grade levels in our houses.

We also celebrated two birthdays! It is always so nice to have families join us in the classroom, and we can share appreciations and learn more about our fellow Temescalians.
