Continuing on with end of the year happenings, there’s a lot and there’s a reason that people in the education world call May the month of 1,000 days.
We celebrated a few birthdays!
We made some art for moms and those in mom-roles.
We had our last two meetings with our 7th grade buddies. We went upstairs to hear about the creatures that they made according to different environments and we heard about the adaptations that were needed to live in extreme places like near a volcano or in a desert. An activity the kids really enjoyed was looking for chameleons the 7th graders hid around the science lab.
For our last meeting together, we shared memories together and spent some time in Strawberry Creek Park.
A beloved tradition is going to see the 8th graders’ reclaimed materials art show. The 8th graders form teams with their own concept and create outfits from thrifted and found items. It is always fascinating to hear about their inspiration, process, and how they push through any setbacks. This is an event that all lower school kids look forward to every year!
We had a Day in the Park at Codornices Park and it was a wonderful day for the entire TBS community, from 2.7 year olds to 8th graders and their grownups, to come together and enjoy the sun, play together, and watch some magic by Brian Scott!
